Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
