Chalobah Poised to Take Over from Guehi in England Squad
Trevoh Chalobah emulated his sibling Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the 21st pair of brothers to be selected for the England side.
Trevoh Chalobah is set to link up with the England squad to fill in for unavailable Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is due to link up with the squad for England's remaining World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, although it has still not been confirmed.
The Three Lions have already booked their place for next summer's tournament.
Chalobah received his maiden selection under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then played his first game against Senegal.
In the month of September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be excluded from the squad for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and also did not select him for the subsequent October fixtures.
Tuchel has been an important presence in Chalobah's development, having awarded him his Chelsea debut in 2021.
Chalobah has appeared in all but four fixtures for Chelsea this season, with the team third in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the European competition.
Guehi sustained a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Conference League victory over the Dutch side in their last match.
There are expected to be further additions to the squad. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has said that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the national team.
